Research Student Opportunities (PhD and MPhil):

Sometimes there are funded PhD opportunities available (please see: https://www.keele.ac.uk/pgresearch/studentships/) however enquiries from suitably qualified applicants capable of funding their own studies are welcome at any time.  Please indicate clearly how your studies may be funded, your qualifications and what your area of interest is.  Projects in the area of polymer and inorganic-organic hybrid materials synthesis are available, as well as projects investigating new materials for delivery of metal based drugs or for removal of metal ions from water.  Projects related to teaching, particularly perceptions of chemistry (‘Chemophobia’) and the use of diagnostic tests in learning and teaching are available on the pedagogical research side of things.

Postdoctoral Research Opportunities:

There are no funded postdoctoral research opportunities available at this time however enquiries from suitably qualified applicants willing to apply for their own fellowship or with their own funding are welcome at any time.  Projects in the area of polymer and inorganic-organic hybrid materials synthesis are available, as well as projects investigating new materials for delivery of metal based drugs or for removal of metal ions from water.

 Research Student Opportunities (Undergraduate):

Undergraduate projects are available in Education and ‘Wet’ Chemistry areas. Project descriptions for BSc and MChem Undergraduate projects are circulated in February each year. Please discuss with KJH. I am always willing to apply for funding schemes such as RSC Undergraduate Summer Research Bursaries which typically have deadlines in February. Please discuss with KJH in mid-January.
